NADL Online Study System for the Certified Dental Technician and Recognized Graduate Examinations

NADL Online Study System for the Certified Dental Technician and Recognized Graduate Examinations

NADL has developed an online study system to help dental technology professionals study for the National Board for Certification in Dental Laboratory Technology certification written examinations.

This online study system will quiz users on aspects of dental laboratory technology including the six specialties: complete dentures, partial dentures, crown and bridge, ceramics, orthodontics and implants.

While the questions in the study system are not actual examination questions, the study questions will familiarize you with the examination format and increasing the level of comfort answering multiple choice style questions. The study system should not be used as your sole source of preparation for the certification examination, but as a tool as part of your examination preparation process. The study system covers several topics from each specialty; however, there are topics that will be on the examination and that are not covered in this study system.

The National Board for Certification in Dental Laboratory Technology certification written examinations are drawn from the Job Task Analysis and specific industry available references as listed in the CDT/RG Candidate Examination Handbook. Study of those references should be included in your preparation for the examinations. Additional information can be obtained at www.nbccert.org.

Use of the study system does not guarantee that a candidate will pass the examinations.

From the date of registration, you will have 90 days to utilize the NADL Online Study System. You may take sample quizzes in a specific specialty, supplementary dental technology subjects or test yourself in all aspects of dental laboratory technology. The questions on the sample quizzes are selected randomly so each time you take a sample quiz, you will be subjected to new information.

The NADL Study System costs $115.00 for NADL Members and CDTs and $165.00 for non-members and non-CDTs for 90 days of access. The registrant will be able to access the system online from any location providing they have Internet access (i.e. from home, the office, the public library, etc.).

If used properly, this online study system, developed by the National Association of Dental Laboratories (NADL), is an invaluable asset. However, it should be emphasized that this online study system is only a guide. It should not be used as your sole source of preparation for the certification examination.

A key to passing any test is to thoroughly understand the subject matter. Calling upon your knowledge and experiences in dental laboratory technology will allow you to successfully complete this challenge. Good study habits are also of paramount importance in preparing for this task. A significant amount of time and effort are required to achieve a successful outcome.

An intense period of individual study to supplement and add to the knowledge base acquired during formal training is necessary. The student must realize that he/she is preparing for a test that covers the entire breadth of dental laboratory technology.

Study diligently! And if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask a CDT!

Register for this course now and start practicing to become a Certified Dental Technician (CDT) or Recognized Graduate (RG)!
