Course Description

The safeguards established to protect patient health information under the HIPAA Act includes the appointment of individuals who will establish, monitor, and update the privacy and security policies and procedures. It’s critical for the privacy official and security official to understand their responsibilities for the protection of this information. These individuals are the key to the establishment of a Covered Entity’s policies and procedures. This course reviews the policies and procedures that are required for the protection of patient health information.

Course objects are to define the following:

  •   Role of the privacy official and the security official
  •   Privacy and security policies that must be developed
  •   The safeguards required to monitor compliance
  •   How to handle a breach
  •   Training of workforce members.

Requirements for Course Completion

This video will be available through your NADL Learner Community for 30 days from your purchase date and will expire after that time. There will be a one time use quiz that must be completed in order to receive CDT/RG credits. These credits will be automatically submitted to NBC.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive one hour of documented Regulatory Standards through the National Board for Certification in Dental Laboratory Technology (NBC). Credit will automatically be submitted to NBC on your behalf.
